The door couldn’t be more wide open in this fresh retelling of the Persephone/Hades myth。 If you are a fan of the throne scene in ACOMAF then you will enjoy this one。 It is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I really really enjoyed neon gods。 There are so many Persephone and hades retellings being pumped out right now and it’s hard to find one with actual substance。 I think this particular book was more focused on plot than sex which was so refreshing。 The book was 100% spicy but it was almost like a background subplot with the real focus being the issue at hand with Zeus, she could’ve left out the sex and we would still have this amazing book。 Honestly I wish we had more spice plot。 I wish we got t I really really enjoyed neon gods。 There are so many Persephone and hades retellings being pumped out right now and it’s hard to find one with actual substance。 I think this particular book was more focused on plot than sex which was so refreshing。 The book was 100% spicy but it was almost like a background subplot with the real focus being the issue at hand with Zeus, she could’ve left out the sex and we would still have this amazing book。 Honestly I wish we had more spice plot。 I wish we got to see how the relationship grew between hades and Persephone, i almost wish the pacing of that slowed and we got to see it happen rather than being told ok 2 weeks have passed and here they are in domestic bliss。 I loved how the ending played out and I’m very excited for Electric gods。 All in all a great book。 More plot than a touch of darkness and less dumb character moments, but definitely think a touch of darkness is more spice。 。。。more

*Spoiler free*I found out about this book the love for it online is immense。 I have heard so many people rave about it, that I wanted try it out before I even knew what it was about。 Then, I found out it's a modern Hades and Persephone retelling and I knew I wanted to give it a try。So, there is a big difference between romance books and erotic romances book。 This is an erotic romance book。 I know everybody is going to laugh at me, but this book was a lot more sexually intense than I thought it w *Spoiler free*I found out about this book the love for it online is immense。 I have heard so many people rave about it, that I wanted try it out before I even knew what it was about。 Then, I found out it's a modern Hades and Persephone retelling and I knew I wanted to give it a try。So, there is a big difference between romance books and erotic romances book。 This is an erotic romance book。 I know everybody is going to laugh at me, but this book was a lot more sexually intense than I thought it was going to be。 If I am being very honest, it pushed the limits of what I read before putting a book down (totally a personal preference thing!)。(It was sexually intense for me。 I know other people will have different thoughts, but this is just how I felt about it!)Though, I am glad that I read it, because I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought I was going to。Modern retellings and I don't usually mesh really well, because I usually want the full magic and fantasy, but I actually really enjoyed this one! I feel like the lines between the Gods and their powers and what they truly stand for were a bit blurred。 I found myself wondering exactly how the hierarchy of this world shakes out。 This book felt very contained to the city of Olympus, but I honestly didn't mind。 It felt like there were secrets yet to be uncovered。I ended up liking Persephone and Hades both a whole lot more than I thought I was going to。 Persephone has this fierceness and stubbornness buried inside her, and she uses it every opportunity that she can get。 Hades is incredibly protective, and is such a decent guy under the surface his dark façade。 I loved seeing them together, and I love how their relationship deepened。I also loved all of the side characters。 Persephone's sisters were amazing; I love them all。 I also really loved how other names from Greek myth popped up, and how they connected into everything。Speaking of Greek myth, I thought this was a fantastic retelling。 It is modern, and it does stray from the original, but I loved seeing the little Easter eggs and connection to myth here and there。Also, I feel like it is very important to note that there are puppies in this book。 THERE ARE THREE PUPPIES。All in all, I ended up really liking this book! I thought the sex scenes would get too intense for me, but I found myself falling in love with Persephone and Hades and the love they hold for their family and their city and seeing them come together。 It was different than I thought it was going to be, but it was very good! 。。。more

This book is marketed as a retelling of the Persephone myth in a contemporary setting。 However, it seemed more like a print version of the effort in the 1970s for porno movies to have a plot。 Picture Ron Jeremy as Zeus。。 better yet, forget that visual and the idea of wasting your time reading this unless you're looking for childishly written dialogue with frequent interludes of erotic fantasy scenes。 This book is marketed as a retelling of the Persephone myth in a contemporary setting。 However, it seemed more like a print version of the effort in the 1970s for porno movies to have a plot。 Picture Ron Jeremy as Zeus。。 better yet, forget that visual and the idea of wasting your time reading this unless you're looking for childishly written dialogue with frequent interludes of erotic fantasy scenes。 。。。more

I did not care for this version of Hades and Persephone。 It was a quick read and there were certain aspects of the book I liked but the whole thing kinda fell flare。 Anne my expectations were too high, I’m not sure。 I did like Hades, his pov chapters were my favorite。 He was kinda of different than other versions of Hades but still the “bad boy”

Rebecca Roberts

Well, duh。It’s a hot Hades and Persephone retelling。 Of course I’m gonna love it。And this was somehow a little better than Touch of Darkness。 I think I liked Persephone more。 And the side characters。 And it really was a new way of looking at the gods and Olympus。

This book was delicious。。。 In a naughty, sinful way。 Hades has stolen my heart, and i would give to him over and over, if he asked。 The chemistry that he has with Persephone, not only in bed but I every day, there are barely any words。 He goes from being this really closed off person, to actually embracing his feelings and falling in love。 In the meantime, Persephone is cunning, seductive but also on a mission to win Hades and his heart。 She's a bad ass who didn't crumble to what her parent(s) s This book was delicious。。。 In a naughty, sinful way。 Hades has stolen my heart, and i would give to him over and over, if he asked。 The chemistry that he has with Persephone, not only in bed but I every day, there are barely any words。 He goes from being this really closed off person, to actually embracing his feelings and falling in love。 In the meantime, Persephone is cunning, seductive but also on a mission to win Hades and his heart。 She's a bad ass who didn't crumble to what her parent(s) set out for her and decided her own future。 Scenery is gorgeous too。 We were transported right in there with everyone, and i loved that the underworld and Olympus were like 2 different cities here, with 2 different vibes and 2 different reputations。 The spicy scenes。。 oh my。 You ever think of something and be like "not sure I'd be into that" and then read about it and go, "wouldn't I be, tho?" This book did that to me。。。 Many times。 This retelling of Hades and Persephone, i highly recommend picking it up。 You're going to love it。 。。。more

The beginning did sort of remind me of 50 shades fanfiction but it got better pretty quickly。 I just don't think I'm that into modern takes on Greek legends。 The beginning did sort of remind me of 50 shades fanfiction but it got better pretty quickly。 I just don't think I'm that into modern takes on Greek legends。 。。。more

It was a little sweeter than I was expecting。 It's not very plot heavy。 They fell for each other rather quickly。 Hades was a lot nicer than I thought he'd be, to the point that he was a little too boring and predictable。 In the middle of the story, Hades and Persephone were falling for each other but both were insistent they couldn't be together。 Why? The damage was done from Persephone getting Hade's territory and staying there。 Her leaving wouldn't have made a difference。 I didn't understand t It was a little sweeter than I was expecting。 It's not very plot heavy。 They fell for each other rather quickly。 Hades was a lot nicer than I thought he'd be, to the point that he was a little too boring and predictable。 In the middle of the story, Hades and Persephone were falling for each other but both were insistent they couldn't be together。 Why? Not sure how to rate this one so ima just not。 For me, I enjoyed the beginning a lot (to be honest though I think I prefer sexual tension then once that's broken I just get bored。 I liked the concept of Olympus being a secret city split into two halves。 The Gods are roles rather than people, so the titles are passed to new people via different mechanisms。 It was pretty cool but the world-building obviously wasn't the focus on the novel (haha)。 The upper city is ruled by Zeus and 11 other 'Gods', Not sure how to rate this one so ima just not。 For me, I enjoyed the beginning a lot (to be honest though I think I prefer sexual tension then once that's broken I just get bored。 I liked the concept of Olympus being a secret city split into two halves。 The Gods are roles rather than people, so the titles are passed to new people via different mechanisms。 It was pretty cool but the world-building obviously wasn't the focus on the novel (haha)。 The upper city is ruled by Zeus and 11 other 'Gods', and none of the upper city ever go to the lower city。 The lower city is ruled by Hades (though Hades is a myth and isn't believed to exist for a long time by most of the upper city)。 When Persephone's mother Demeter sets her up to marry the tyrannical Zeus, she runs away, crossing the bridge over the River Styx to the lower city and into his arms itself。 Hades gave me big Rhysand ~vibes~ you know with the whole awful image hiding someone who cares and protects his people。 They all revere him。 Persephone goes toe to toe with him throughout the beginning of the book, I think I preferred this dynamic than when they actually co-operate。 After a while it gets a bit repetitive。 Persephone kinda gives me Feyre feels too because she hates everyone except her sisters and has that self-sacrificing nature。 Overall, the writing was kinda terrible but I got some enjoyment out of it? I don't think this kinda romance is really my thing though。 。。。more

Robert did a good job of putting her own spin on the Olympus lore and putting it in a modern day setting。 It was interesting to see how the personalities she assigned to the various members of the pantheon including the two main ones。 I find the spice level to be pretty high but then again I don't know where it is at in comparison to her others。 I would want to read more about some of the characters especially her sisters。 I even intrigued to hear more of Hermes story。 I feel some of the true mo Robert did a good job of putting her own spin on the Olympus lore and putting it in a modern day setting。 It was interesting to see how the personalities she assigned to the various members of the pantheon including the two main ones。 I find the spice level to be pretty high but then again I don't know where it is at in comparison to her others。 I would want to read more about some of the characters especially her sisters。 I even intrigued to hear more of Hermes story。 I feel some of the true motives and b extension redemptive arcs came too late for some of the characters to make me want to give them a chance。 To say more would be a spoiler but there were a few that I was left with at the end of story going, I don't hate you as much but I still don't like you。I feel this was a good place for me to start with this author since while it was still a steamy and dark romance, it wasn't as spicy as she can get。 I'm not sure if I would read her spicier stuff because it may be outside my comfort zone but after enjoying this one I'm more inclined to give it a try。 If you're looking for another Hades and Persephone myth remix, this would be a good option。 。。。more

Yes, please! It also came highly recommended from a fellow reader。Demeter makes a deal without Persephone's knowledge。 She is to wed Zeus and become the next Hera。 Persephone flees to lower Olympus to escape their machinations until she can reach her majority, receive her inheritance, and leave forever。 In seeking refuge with Hades, she buys herself the time she needs and more than she bargains for with Hades himself。The benefit to the audiobook is the dual narration。 Both narrators, Zara Hampton-Brown and Alex Moorcock, are excellent and brought these characters and story to life。I've not read Katee Roberts before。 I recommend if you love a steamy (think sauna level heat for several hours) modern spin on a classic myth。 While the descriptive sex scenes were outside my wheelhouse (I skipped forward several times), I did find the story itself fascinating。Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the alc。 All thoughts in this review are my own。 。。。more
